Autonomy achievements in the Bowen Basin, Queensland
Thiess is the first mining operation in the world to simultaneously deploy Cat® MineStar™ Command for hauling and Command for drilling solutions. We achieved this world-first at a metallurgical coal mine in the Bowen Basin, where we also launched fully autonomous drilling and hauling ops from a purpose-built facility on-site, set up a private LTE network that talks to over 85 assets in the autonomous operating zone and transformed a greenfield site into a fully autonomous operation within 18 months.
